7 of the coolest new season scarves because it's not quite summer yet

And you know that scarves are an essential item all year round in Ireland

It looks like spring today, but sure don't feel like spring today. And to think that the May Bank Holiday is just around the corner! There's an arctic wind a-blowing that really makes me regret not wearing a vest. Not that I have since primary school, but you know what I mean.

I wore my leather jacket because even though today's weather warrants a coat, I'm not going that far. Not with the bloody May Bank Hol just around the corner etc., etc. However, I did wrap my massive wool scarf around me, a perfectly acceptable accessory for days like these.

I have quite the collection of scarves; I think the scarf is an essential accessory when you live somewhere that feels like winter in May and summer in October. It's an easy way to layer up when colder weather hits, it's not as awkward to stuff in your bag when you get inside, and it can double up as a blanket, picnic or otherwise. It's also an easy way to add a certain something to an otherwise boring outfit, and as woolly numbers make way for more lightweight alternatives, this time of year is the best time to buy one.
