Tips for covering grey hairs when you're in between hair appointments

If you're feeling more badger than human you'll love our tips for covering up grey hairs in between salon appointments!

Time, as they say, marches on. And unfortunately, when it does, it tends to leave a few little grey hairs in its wake. Some men and women can pull off grey hair and look amazing in the process. And I don't mind admitting that I'm more than a little jealous of them. Because I sadly am not one of those people.

You see mousey brown hair mixed with the odd grey doesn't look distinguished. It just looks a bit... sludgy. One day my mop will probably be all white, like my Dad's. And I will love it. But for now, I'll continue to rely on the smoke and mirrors that a qualified hair stylist offers.

The only problem, of course, with dying greys is the constant upkeep. It can get pretty pricey if you're popping to a hair salon every 4 - 6 weeks. So, if grey hairs are cramping your style too, then here are some solutions for hair emergencies. Or, when you're trying to eek out an extra week or two between appointments.

We've tried all three and they're all good options for a quick fix. One tip that some people may appreciate is to apply the colour on damp hair, rather than when it's dry, as the instructions say (especially with the L'Oreal). The consistency can be a little sticky; when you apply it to damp hair, it's looser, so you can get to adding that volume!
