Lip Scrubs

lip scrub

Is there any point in using a lip scrub? Surely it's a product you really don't need? Well, I dunno actually - lips can get flaky and sore in the winter even if you make sure to apply balm 25 times a day. I have a really gross habit of sitting at my desk in work biting skin off my lips - yuck! And I bet I'm not alone either!

The smoother your lips are, the better whatever you put on top will look, whether it's gloss or lipstick, so using a scrub is starting to make more sense. The lip scrub I'm reading about everywhere at the moment is Sarah Happ's The Lip Scrub, but my God it's pricey - it'll cost you €31.25 from HQHair and It'd want to be pretty bloody amazing for that price! There are six flavours and it does promise to "leave lips ridiculously soft and supple".

Just as well!

If you've more money than sense, lips like a tree trunk or need a present for the woman who has everything then I reckon this'll be perfect.

Otherwise, what's a gal with a peeling pout to do? You could try these at home solutions:

  • after a shower, gently rub a dry facecloth or towel over your lips to remove flaking skin.
  • Or you can mix some granulated sugar with your regular lip balm, massage across your lips and then wipe off. The sugar acts as an exfloliator and the balm helps smooth your lips at the same time. Altogether cheaper too!
