Eddie Hobbs Advises: Banish Benefit for Maybelline

Eddie's back with more of his fantastic makeup swaps. Who knew Eddie knew so much about the world of beauty, eh? But I guess it's his mission in life to turn us all into penny pinchers, so he's just being thorough with th'auld research.

This time, Mr. Hobbs* is tackling the thorny issue of skin luminizers. We're massive, massive Benefit fans at Beaut.ie, but we're also aware that Benefit goodies can be a little on the pricey side, especially if you're that bit younger, in college, or don't have a lot of ready cash. Though having said that, who does have a lot of ready cash (six interest rate hikes ringing any bells with anyone?) these days? I have a very ready credit card though!

So Eddie is only deee-loooited to tell us that we can make a sneaky swap, and no one will be the wiser. He's suggesting we bin the Benefit, and mix up the Maybelline. I know I'm a firm fan of Benefit's High Beam, but it is kinda pricey. Enter Maybelline Dream Mousse Shimmer in Porcelain. It's a really good substitute for High Beam and best of all - it costs under a tenner. It's got a different consistency to High Beam so a little bit of practice is required to achieve the exact same results, but ladies, as we all know so well, practice makes perfect.

You can dab it on over foundation on brow and cheek bones and add it subtly down the bridge of your nose. You'll look shimmery and iridescent and gorgeous. Mix it in with foundation for an all over dose of luminizing too. And with the twenty quid you save, you can buy something else faaaahbulous!
