Co-founder of Beaut.ie Aisling McDermott has sadly passed away

A pioneer in the world of Irish blogging and beauty, Aisling McDermott has passed away

Aisling McDermott, along with her sister Kirstie, founded the original Beaut.ie in 2006. But she didn't just start the site; she formed the groundwork for the Irish blogging industry as we know it today.

Aisling's passion for beauty and her immense talent as a writer attracted hundreds of thousands of women to Beaut.ie, to not only learn about the latest in beauty but to read what she had to say. While running Beaut.ie, Aisling published two books, The Beaut.ie Guide to Gorgeous and Gorgeous to Go, both best-sellers that women all over Ireland still cite today.

Since moving on from the site in 2014, Aisling wrote for the Irish Times, and with Laura Kennedy, she wrote a third book, the beauty bible that is About Face: The Smart Woman's Guide to Beauty.

Today, with the announcement of her death on social media by her sister Kirstie McDermott, the entire world of Irish beauty writing and consuming mourns this terrible and premature loss.

Our thoughts go out to Aisling's husband, family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
