Hairy Moment: Three Kits for Quick Roots Cover Up

We're confused. Why is it that Zosia Mamet is sporting the rootsiest roots ever but it looks ok? It even looks cool. It's actually making us want to abandon our scheduled hair colouring sesh this Saturday and maybe take some Domestos to the ends.

And another thing, her roots match her eyebrows - do we spy a new trend?

Even though Zosia is the hippest and edgiest Girl in hip, edgy Nu Yoik - and we're impressed that her granny let her borrow one of every pair of earrings she owns - her look won't be to everyone's taste. Somehow, roots just don't look the same when your perfect highlight job is growing out.

Like nose hairs and muggers, roots have a nasty habit of creeping up on you and scaring the bejaysus out of you when you least expect it. Like when you are admiring the Brown Thomas window display or trying to catch the eye of a handsome stranger.

No one has the time or the money for constant, costly touch ups which is why we're grateful for these products that do the job quite nicely, thank you very much.

  • Clairol Nice and Easy Root Touch-Up €6.59

This is the perfect solution for DIY dyers as it will match your hair colour very well. There are loads of shades in Clairol's range so even if you don't dye your hair fully or if you usually use a different kit you'll find something to match. It's really easy to use too.

  • Color Wow Root Touch Up €38.50

Yes, it's pricey. But, as we said when we had a closer look earlier in the year, it may be worth the investment for it's quick fix capabilities and it lasts for ages.

  • Josh Wood Blending Wands €17.50

We took a look at these last year and thought they were magical little things. Unlike Color Wow Root Touch Up, which is basically makeup for hair, the wands conceals greys for two or three weeks.

We're not averse to using eye shadow when roots make their sneaky appearance (we have a shade that matches our hair colour exactly that is reserved especially for when long white strands rear their snowy heads) do you have any tips for concealing roots?

PS We spied Zosia at the premiere of Southpaw, see all the stylish guests here.
