Have We Found the Ultimate Budge-Proof Make Up?

Working in the beauty industry, I hear a lot of claims. I take them all with a gallon of salt and then set to work for you, sorting the wheat from the cosmetic chaff.

So when I heard that the new Colorband Crayons from Bourjois were budge proof, I reached for the salt cellar and prepared to swatch. But more on that later.

These six new eye crayons hit shelves this month and will set you back €7.99.

These creamy shadows can also be used to contour the eye, using your finger to blend. They are super easy to work with and have a subtly iridescent finish.

The six shades on offer are:

  • Noir Abstrait
  • Brun Dadaïste
  • Beige Minimaliste

  • Rose Fauviste
  • Mauve Baroque
  • Gris Graffiti

First off, I quite like the colour selection because you can use them to play up different features of your eyes. The darker shades vamp it up for night time, while the mauve is perfect for summer. The beige can be used in the inner corners as a highlighter and I'd suggest using the rose on the lower lash line to make your own eye colour pop.

683980(1)The blurb says that the waterproof pigments give 24 hour hold. But of course I didn't believe this and had to test it for myself. I have the Brun Dadaïste (which looks like a dupe of Mac's Woodwinked) and Gris Graffiti to show you, and I suspect I'll have it to show you for the next 24 hours.

I can confirm that short of using a sandblaster, this does. not. budge. I'll be oil cleansing my paws to get rid of these stripes.

But as a hard-working, non-budging, easy to work with iridescent shade, these Colorband Crayons from Bourjois get top marks.
