The catwalks were flooded with bright lips for the Spring Summer shows. The fuschias, corals, hot pinks and orange reds work wonderfully with sunny weather and floral prints. They also scream confidence, and there's literally nothing more appealing.
High-end brands like Nars and Bobbi Brown can always be relied upon to release vibrant, trend driven shades when we most hunger for them. However, a statement lipstick in orange or fuchsia that you'll wear a handful of times can make a serious dent in your pocket if you're paying up to €30!
So why not invest in your everyday products, and be a little savvier when following trends? Here are four beautiful budget lip products to capture the trend for brights while saving your cents!
- Rimmel London Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm (€7.99)
Rimmel never seems to miss a beat, and these lovely lip crayons are right in time for Spring. Seriously pigmented with a satin finish, they glide on like a dream and are impressively opaque for a drugstore lip product. Tomato red shade 'The Redder the Better' is a real winner. You'll catch eyes in it for sure!
They're also amazing value at under €8, and come in an impressive range of twelve shades.
- Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon (€10.99)
This offering from Bourjois is much sheerer than its Rimmel counterpart, but don't be fooled by the muted packaging. These have a sheer, dewy finish, but come in some seriously bright and summery shades. Look out for Orange Punch, a hot coral that would look great paired with summer skin.
- Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick (€10.49)
An oldie but a goodie, this product is a beaut.ie favourite. Ravishing Rouge, a warm tomato red shade, is the only matte lipstick we know of that can withstand garlic cheese fries and emerge looking elegant and undisturbed. The shade is screaming red, though, so it's not for the faint of heart!
- Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivid Lipstick Collection (€9.99)
Another winner from Maybelline - they just know their lip and eye products - these lipsticks are brights at their best. Shocking Coral and Electric Orange are bordering on fluoro brights. These are very opaque. They might hurt people's eyes with their rich, glossy intensity, but you'll be bang on trend!
