Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Skin Brightening Exfoliator: Oh Em Gee - The Smoothness

All things Asian are on our radar at the moment for skin brightening, lightening and corrective magic.  Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Skin Brightening line originated in Asia and the clinical results they publish are based on a sample of Asian women, so I was interested and wanted to try the range out myself.  I've just started using the Dark Spot Solution, so will report back on that in the future, but today it's the Clearly Corrective Skin Brightening Exfoliator (€29, 125ml) from the line that I want to talk about.

There's a whole array of products in this range from Kiehl's and the exfoliator contains the White Birch and Peony botanical extracts that the rest of the line uses.  I wasn't really expecting much more in terms of skin brightening than any other exfoliating product would provide. However, I was really pleasantly surprised by the effects after just one use!

Suitable for sensitive types
This scrub is a white cream gel with exfoliating particles that foams up with water, so it can also be used as a cleansing product. You only need the tiniest amount to thoroughly exfoliate the whole face, so while the price is on the high side, you definitely get value for money. It spreads really easily on the skin thanks to the glycerin-based formula and although it feels satisfyingly scrubby to use, it doesn't feel at all harsh on my sensitive skin. In actual fact, it's recommended for nightly use if needed, so it is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.

I could feel the difference right away in my skin when I rinsed it off (you can remove it either by rinsing with water or wiping off with a cloth). My skin literally felt squeaky clean, but was also totally calm, with no redness. There was a slight tightness there, but nothing that wasn't resolved by applying moisturiser.

OMG the smoothness
But Oh My God, the smoothness! My face looked suddenly pore-less and the redness that is always present around my nose was gone. Now even the T-Zone felt like the rest of my face - all was all uniformly smooth and soft. It was amazing - I spent the next few hours stopping to marvel at myself in every mirror I passed.

I really couldn't believe the results from one use and from a product which didn't produce any sensitivity in my skin.

Although the Skin Brightening Exfoliator can be used daily, I think I'd limit it to once or twice a week in my case and it's something I'd definitely use before a special occasion. But if you have oilier skin that is prone to congestion, this definitely seems like it would be suitable for more frequent use as needed.

Have you tried this product or any others from the Clearly Corrective line (there is a cleanser and toner as well as a moisture lotion and cream and the dark spot solution)? Would you be tempted?
