Why we chose a liquid tan over other tan textures time and time again

There are so many tans to choose from now that it's hard to pick one favourite. Here's why we choose a liquid tan most often.

With fifty million tans on the shelves at the moment, it's very difficult to know which one to use. Let's talk textures; you've got liquid tan, cream, mousse, whipped mousse, sleep masks, dry oils and serums. Then there are the different types of tans: sleep mask tans, instant tans, gradual tans, tanning drops, developing tans and spray tans.

When there are all these textures and methods of self-tanning to choose from, why would you choose a liquid? There are lots of pros and few cons to using a liquid tan. Our number one in the list of good traits is that it is fast-drying. Who wants to stand about drying after applying fake tan? Nobody. Firstly it's freezing and secondly, nobody has time for waiting to dry.

The second excellent thing about liquid tan is that you can see it as it goes on. It is like an instant tan that gradually develops under the original tint it gives your skin. The tint is called the colour guide. This guide makes it easy to apply; it makes it kind of foolproof. It means you can see streaks appearing immediately and whether you are getting an even application. (But, please note, we said kind of.)

Take, for example, one of our favourites; the HeShi Express Liquid Tan. It applies beautifully and is easy to get a perfect application. It develops quickly so that you can wash it off after just a few hours. No need to sleep in it, which is an added bonus.

Here are a few good ones to start your liquid tan obsession today.
