MAC launched their Pore Refiner Stick recently. We've been road testing it. And the results are in.
The Prep + Primer Pore Refiner Stick is a new addition to the MAC collection along with their new Fix+ Matte Spray (which we reviewed last week). The idea behind it is simple - smooth out the appearance of skin, blur imperfections and refine/reduce the look of pores.
The new MAC Pore Refiner Stick is available in Brown Thomas, Arnotts and BT2 stores now €26.50.

Now, we've tried these types of products before and while they sound great on paper; in reality, it can be a different story. Some of them ball up once you try to apply foundation on top. Alternatively, they can separate or split foundation when applied over it (which is particularly annoying if you've spent time perfecting it!). Thankfully, though, this story has a happier ending.
When applied under makeup the finish of this is seamless, leaving skin with a more flawless appearance. Used sparingly on top of makeup (lightly tap it on with either fingers or a sponge) and it blurs pores and leaves a natural matte finish.
MAC have found the perfect balance with their Pore Refiner Stick. It delivers on what it promises. And while it might be more expensive than most, they make up for it in performance. Plus, a little goes a long way so it will last for months and months.
