Nails, Nails, Nails: Aid and Abet Your Nail Routine With These Little Beauties

In some exciting nail news, Sally Hansen has two new product lines launching here next month! Why is this exciting? Well Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure is probably one of the best polishes around, with excellent staying power and the sort of finish people comment on, so anything new is always promising.

We haven’t managed to get our paws on any samples yet but the new ranges are Velvet and Patent (€6.95 each). One gives a soft matte finish, the other a shiny leather-look sheen.  They’ll be available from mid-November.

Sally Hansen Nail PolishAlso coming down the tracks is NYC’s Strip Me Off base coat (€1.99 but you’ll have to wait till December for this one). I gave it a go, using it under a sparkly polish and it did come off without much effort, balling up like that water-based glue we used to have in primary school. Not a very scientific comparison but that’s what it reminded me of!

Finally, it’s neither new nor sparkly, but an absolute hero if you have nail woes: Dr Lewinn Renunail Nail Strengthener (available from Debenhams and selected pharmacies). If you struggle with broken, split nails this stuff is amazing! For years, two of my nails kept peeling and would never grow long enough for the complete nail to come back. I tried this and within a few weeks things had improved incredibly. If my nails ever split now, I use this for a few days and the problem is solved. You need to be careful though as it’s really drying on cuticles, and you need to follow the instructions but it absolutely works.
