We do love a good lipstick launch and today bring you happy news - headed our way from the Body Shop is a 24-strong lippy range offering vibrant colour paired with lasting moisture.

Part of the Colour Crush range - we're big fans of the mono eyeshadows too - these replace the brand's Colourglide product at the end of August.

With a similar formula to the new Bourjois lippies we talked about here, these are full of emollients like cherry and marula seed oils for that lovely soft and smushy texture that glides onto the lips, feels actively hydrating and is super comfortable to wear.

The shades are split into three colour families: red, nude and pink, with a mixture of sheerer, shimmery shades and a more saturated finish.

I've had two of the nudes and a pink to play with: 305 Golden Flirt (coffee shot through with subtle gold sparkle), 315 Coral Kiss (a peachy nude), and 201 Red Hot Raspberry (a lovely vibrant fuchsia).

They all have a high-shine, glossy finish and are easy and flattering to wear. Because of the soft, balm-like formula you don't need to worry about being too precise with application - just slick 'em on and go - but the flipside of that is you do need to regularly reapply.

Sometimes I find the Body Shop a little on the spendy side but at €12.95, I think these are pretty well priced.  They're a real pleasure to use and to wear and the formula rivals products at more than twice the price.

Plus, like all Body Shop products, these are cruelty free and have a cockle warming backstory too - the marula oil is sourced from the Eudafano Women's Co-Operative, which is helping 1750 women in rural Northern Namibia to earn a fair income. The women report that the benefits go way beyond money, to a sense of independence, business management and confidence. Now who doesn't want to support something like that?
