Ooo La La! Sothys Launch A Newly Revamped Makeup Collection

Sothys is a brand I admit I don’t know a huge amount about. I haven’t tried much of the skincare but it’s a French salon brand with a good reputation and when the revamped makeup line came my way it was a tempting prospect.

The packaging is all sleek black elegance and the range features everything from a trio of foundations to mascara to nail polishes. The press blurb says the formulas were designed by a skincare specialist and that’s easy to see as many of the products are packed with extra benefits.

There are three foundations in the line, offering various levels of coverage. The Age-Defying Foundation (€47) gives a satiny finish with fuller coverage and contains anti ageing properties making it a good choice perhaps for older skins.

The Skin Perfector Foundation (€40) gives a matt finish and contains a pore refining system too, while Glowing Hydrating Foundation (€40) gives a natural finish and boosts radiance and hydration levels.

The Illuminating Trio (€52.30) is a super-soft powder formulation and can be used as an overall bronzer or the three shades can be used separately on cheeks and eyes.

But the star of the line for me is the Rouge Sothys lipsticks. They’re beautiful, extremely smooth and hydrating. There are two types, both packed with mango butter and rice bran oil, and a complex contain omega 3,6 and 9.  The Sheer Lipstick (€29.70) gives a soft tint – I tried the berryish 121 shade, which looked and tasted a bit like melted Jelly Tots (in a good way!) and behaved like a tinted balm, while  Rouge Intense (€29.70) in red shade 240 gives a bolder, more satin finish but was equally lovely to wear.  A definite winner.

Have you come across Sothys before? How do you find it? Would you like to try any of these French fancies out?
