Poshe: A New Contender for the Ultimate Top Coat Crown?

poshe topcoat

Over the last couple of months, Seche Vite top coat and I have been gradually drifting apart. I could overcome the shrinkage issue. I could tolerate the need to thin it out every so often (well - I probably could if the process would work for me.) What kept niggling at me was the fact that, in an industry where so many brands are opting to produce products that don't contain The Big 3, Seche Vite still contains toluene.

It wasn't exactly keeping me awake at night, now, but the issue definitely encouraged me to seek out a viable alternative.

So I snagged a bottle of what's widely lauded as the 3 Free answer to Seche Vite, Poshe Super-Fast Drying Top Coat, while in the States during the summer. The blurb says that it's ...

  • touch dry in one minute and dry in five
  • non-yellowing
  • chip-resistant
  • non-dragging
  • self-levelling

Sound familiar at all?

Poshe is slightly thinner in consistency than Seche Vite, which is a big plus for anyone who finds the thickness of the latter difficult to work with. It's super shiny, although perhaps doesn't give quite such a glassy finish as Seche Vite.  Poshe lives up to all the claims outlined above, and I found that shrinkage was much less pronounced than with Seche Vite. Another plus: where Seche Vite has to be used atop wet polish for best results, Poshe can be used to revive previously applied polish a couple of days into a manicure.

Any downsides? Well, Poshe is not quite as amazing as Seche Vite on the self-levelling front - glitter polishes are still going to feel texturised with this - and the dry time is just a smidgen longer.

All things considered, I think they're pretty much neck and neck as the creme de la creme of quick dry top coats. If you're looking to switch from Seche Vite because of its lack of 3 Free credentials, though, this Poshe top coat is the way to go.
