No excuses now, boys!
The next generation of condoms are being worked on by a team of scientists in Australia with new materials that apparently feel better than wearing nothing.
Where latex has dominated the market for years, hydrogels are increasingly being viewed as the next big thing in the world of condom research and design. Using a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the team at the University of Wollongong have been researching using different materials to make new condoms, and hydrogels have come out on top.
While the research is great in that it will "enhance pleasure" given that they're self lubricated and feel more like skin, it's also aimed at seeing an uptake in condom use in order to reduce "the incidence of unplanned pregnancies and in prevention of infection with HIV or other STIs".

Speaking to The Independent, Robert Gorkin explained that they believe that it feels better than wearing nothing, but that they will also scientifically prove that by looking at brain activity to see how people react to it: "If you make them so pleasurable that people can't wait to put them on, then more people will use them, and we can hopefully stop the spread of disease. It's as simple as that."
