Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser: The Lazy Girl's New Best Friend

You know that I'm all about the lazy beauty shortcuts, and one of my very favourite cheats is a product that cuts down on – or, ideally, cuts out – the need to moisturise my hide, especially after a shower. It's why I loved L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil and desperately wanted to love Ro's Argan Body Conditioner from Lush (I couldn't get on with the pot packaging or the greasy feeling it imparted to skin) so it was always likely that I was going to get on well with Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser, the brand's newest whizz-bang body offering.

This is rinse-off, water-activated moisturiser for use in the shower after cleansing with your usual body wash, in much the same way as you'd lash conditioner on to your tresses after shampooing. You massage it into clean wet skin, rinse it off, and go.

Could hardly be simpler, really.

I've been trialling the version for dry skin, which is enriched with almond oil, and so far I'm well impressed. The flip-top bottle is shower-friendly and the moisturiser is quite fluid in texture – although thankfully not too runny – so a small amount goes a long way and it's easy to smooth on all over.

Immediately after use, my skin feels noticeably smoother, silky soft and – crucially – still clean. Nivea aren't messing when they say that this stuff is quickly absorbed by wet skin: it doesn't leave so much as a hint of greasy residue behind, either on my skin or the shower tray.

Hours later, skin still feels lightly moisturised and even the following day, my Dandruff Legs remain miraculously almost completely flake-free.

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser probably won't be nourishing enough on its own for anyone with very serious scaliness issues, but if you simply can't be arsed with applying body lotion every day, well, consider this an introduction to your new best friend.

(You're welcome.)

Look out for Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser from May, when it will be available in two formulations for normal or dry skin and cost about €6.
