5 Fashion Lessons We Learnt From X Factor Auditions

The X Factor juggernaut rolled into town yesterday as they started their auditions in Manchester.

And while I think that the whole thing is a right old yawnfest at this stage, I do like checking out the fashion and the styling on the show.

So here are five tips I picked up from the audition:

1. Rita would make a great superhero

Lookit, she has the outfit already. And I love those boots.

2. Cheryl has this strobing thing down

Put the crazy contouring and tin man shiny face away, strobing is all about a subtle glow (more about that next week).

She is also bringing back the 'no feet' look (see gallery below). I fear this might be a thing for AW15.

3. How to wear Mom jeans without looking like Auntie Betty

We're taking notes from Rochelle and matching classics with modern detailing and those high waisted dennyums.

3. Hello footwear of 1996

Brace yourselves. It's coming back.

Hello The Clog.

Take refuge in a windmill while you can.

5. Olly Murs likes Granda pants

Take them off Olly and I never want to see them again. And by the way, you ain't foolin' me with those flatforms.

You can check out the gallery below. Whose style gets your vote and whose would you speak about tearfully and say it's just not for you but that you know that this is just the beginning for them?
