Relaxing pillow mists for a better sleep that we swear by

Pillow mists can offer a little helping hand for a restful night's sleep. We've picked out our favourites to relax with

I used to think that pillow mists were a bit of a gimmick. Surely, if you're tired, you'll fall asleep? As I got a bit older though I started to realise life doesn't work quite that way. You can be exhausted but your mind remains racing. We all know we should look after ourselves better. And most of the time, that starts with quality sleep.

This Works Pillow Spray

There have been countless studies done which suggest we put technology away earlier in the evening, exercise daily, be mindful, meditate, eat well etc to sleep better. In theory, everything sounds entirely do-able, but in reality it's all easier said than done, isn't it? So, if a pillow mist can help aid a more restful sleep, bring 'em on I say! That being said, not all pillow mists are created equally.

Over the years there are two I've found which actually work. One is the aptly named Deep Sleep Pillow Spray by This Works (€22). Infused with essential oils of lavender, vetivert and wild chamomile to soothe the body and mind, this is like the adult equivalent of a lullaby. The other is the beautiful L'Occitane Relaxing Pillow Mist (€21), made with essential oils including lavender, bergamot and mandarin.  Both give you an instant feeling of relaxation and calm, which goes a long way towards getting a great night's sleep.
