On your days off, you might still want a little bit of coverage. This gym makeup is brilliant for when you're hanging around - or working out
I wrote about the new gym makeup range Performance Hydration Recovery from Penneys earlier this month and it got me thinking about my beauty regimen for the gym. The Penneys range didn't blow me away, but I've been thinking about what gym makeup essentials I do use when I'm working out. I keep it very simple. Going to the gym, I will only have two makeup products on my face: foundation and mascara. This foundation is my key product for 'activewear' days.
I like my skin to be able to breathe when I'm working out. When you are hot and sweating, your pores will dilate which means whatever is on your skin is going to get right down into them. If you have too much makeup on it can cause dirt and debris to build up in your pores leading to spots and imperfections. That's the main reason I choose this makeup for no-makeup days and working out.
Jane Iredale Dream Tint is the most perfect makeup for letting your skin breathe and giving you a little coverage at the same time. It is made by Jane Iredale, the queen of good-for-your-skin makeup. It is water resistant so it stays put while you sweat. Also, it has a matte finish so it's an ideal tinted moisturiser for oily skin. On your skin, it just looks like perfect skin rather than skin covered up with makeup. This lets your skin breathe and is noncomedogenic so it won't clog your pores or cause breakouts.
A little goes a long way with this formula. It comes out of the tube looking very pale, almost white. When you warm it in your fingers and apply it to your skin it changes to skin colour. The optical diffusers minimize the appearance of enlarged pores and fine lines to give your skin a naturally smooth appearance. I wear Dream Tint on all my casual, makeup free days when I'm hanging around in my 'active wear' and for working out. I love a tinted moisturiser and this is definitely my favourite.
