How to shape your eyebrows

Because your eyebrows shape your face, it's so important to get a good shape. Here's how to shape them like a pro.

Whether you choose to go to a professional or do it at home yourself this technique will make sure you can't go wrong.

The main thing to take into account is that before you even pick up tweezers, wax, or thread you need to spend time measuring the face.

It's far too easy to mess up the shape or create a-symmetry if you haven't marked out the face before. This goes for doing it yourself or your technician. It's almost impossible to get a perfect shape on both sides by eye.

Marking out the face

When you are marking out the face make sure you have a 2/3 to 1/3 ratio. This means the body of the brow is 2/3 and the tail is 1/3.

Next, join the gaps with a sharp pencil. Make sure the pencil is exceptionally sharp and is a crayon rather than kohl. Kohl pencils are too sharp and will smudge. Carefully pluck around that line in a very good light. Sit beside a window or use a ring light if you have one. Make sure your tweezers are sharp.

Avoid wax unless you are very familiar with it; it can be very messy and hard to control to get it in a straight line if you aren't used to it.

Don't feel you have to do it yourself. It might be an option to get them shaped by a professional first then keep up the shape yourself.
