One Piece, Two Ways: Hard Working Wardrobe Essentials

It's Monday so it has mean a new "Ways to Wear" post! And this week, since the sun has been shining just a bit, we've got one fabulous bit of fashion fun for you. The Orient has had a huge impact on the catwalks this season, and one piece that has emerged as a new alternative to our classic jackets is the kimono. There are plenty of shapes and styles from our favourite high street shops and even more ways to wear them. So we've sifted through the Beaut fashion archives to find you the perfect kimono to invest in this season.

Our pick is this amazing printed kimono from the Indigo Collection at Marks & Spencer

Keep the look nice and smart by styling the kimono with taupe coloured culottes, wedge sandals (you might have seen our poll on the flatform, these will also look good) and add some jewelled earrings to finish it off. This is easy styling; there aren't too many pieces to it and you can also swap out the culottes for a darker shade if you so wish. Penneys have some great cropped and ankle grazer trousers at the moment.

  • Ways to wear: A little dressy

Skirt, €37, River Island; Shoes, €39.99, New Look; Sunglasses, €3, Penneys Skirt, €37, River Island; Shoes, €39.99, New Look; Sunglasses, €3, Penneys

Keeping with a similar colour palette, it's easy to transition the look from day time to early evening.

Try a cream faux-leather mini skirt (the a-line is super flattering) and a fringed heel. This adds a little festival vibe to the look. So all you need is some sunshine and shades! Each style is relaxed yet keeps you on trend and comfortable. The kimono is made from cotton so it's a great summer fabric to have. And that tie at the waist keeps your middle section nice and defined.
