Ooooh, It's All Dark and Mysterious at H and M Next Season: We Take a Look at our Favourite Pieces

One the world's most well known high street stores, H&M came to Dublin this week to showcase it's Autumn Winter 2014 collections over a very fabulous dinner at the Drury Buildings.

Even though the sun was beating through the windows, all eyes and ears were attuned to next season's luxurious Studio, Conscious Denim and Premium collections. And oh, I liked it.

The tone is a decadent and dark, with strong textures, embellishment and a smooth sultry palette.

The collection was shown at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year to a rapturous reception from the media, so the hype  had started long before it came to our town. Having seen the collection myself in May at the UK press event, I knew what to expect but spending more time to appreciate the high quality of the Studio and Conscious Denim collections was time well spent.

Key pieces include bomber jackets, sheer blouses and tops, silk dresses, double-breasted dinner jackets, a wider leg trouser to create a sophisticated silhouette and strong knits. And the consistency throughout the collections are what strikes a note with me.

The theme does not fault and each item compliments the next in perfect symmetry.

My edit of the collections include a velvet and embellished dress styled with an oversize cream bomber jacket and chunky ankle boots (you can check out the looks I styled on Xposé later in the week!), and the most amazing velvet jumpsuit that manages to mix the industrial with the chic. The nicest part of this collection is how well I envisage it sitting alongside separates we may already have in our wardrobe. I love convenient collections!!

Do you like what you see? What is your favourite piece?
