Bags are big business, and stores know they have to up their game if they want to stay in it. We the public have been calling out for a high street premier bag collection, and River Island has heard our cries.

River Island is already known for its bags. I see more RI symbols than Michael Kors these days, probably because River Island styles are similar, but the price is right-er.

The premium collection prices aren't all that bad either. They'll range from €60 - €134; pretty good considering they're all made from real leather. Inspiration has obviously been taken from the bag department of luxury stores, and they cover all style bases. River Island has been clever with its colour palettes and prints too. They'll come in a range of animal print, suede, patchwork and embossed leather with more fashion-y, 'out there' prints for those more daring, and plainer black and tans for basic people, like me.

My favourite is The Harper, in black.

But I'd be tempted to pick up a print version, too.
