3 wearable runway beauty trends you will love for AW18

Runway beauty trends offer fresh inspiration for the coming season. So if you want to shake-up your makeup, here are three ideas to try.

Runway beauty trends can sometimes seem a little off the wall. But when you break it down, there are often little tips and tricks that can give you new ideas for your own looks. It's often said that we learn how to do our makeup in our teens and twenties. and then stick to it for life. Basically, we love to stay in our comfort zone, but even one small change can make all the difference.

So to give you a little inspiration, here are three runway beauty trends that we're loving for AW18.

Matte Red Lips

When teamed with glowing skin, matte red lips look ultra sophisticated. The look popped up on the runways at Botegga Veneta and Cushnie et Ochs, and also in Paris at the Rochas show in Paris (where I was working backstage).

A top tip when wearing a matte lip is to start by prepping lip first with a scrub. Then slightly overdraw the line with a matching lip pencil before applying colour to help lips appear fuller.

Faux Freckles

Seen backstage at Missoni during Milan Fashion Week, faux freckles are a cute addition to sun-kissed skin. For this show, we used a mix of products to create tiny freckles on each of the models' faces after applying blush and bronzer. The easiest way to achieve the look is by using eyebrow pencils to dot them on.

Shimmer lip balms

If you're not a fan of lipstick, and can't abide glosses then a shimmering lip balm might be just the ticket.  At Versace, Pat McGrath used her new Pat McGrath Labs 'Nude Astral' balm over a lip liner to create a full, plumped effect. When paired with a high shine highlighter, the finish looked modern and polished.

Would you try any of these new trends for AW18? Or do you have your own routine?
