The Best Dressed Men of the Golden Globes 2015

We are all over rating (and slating, if a disastrous dress calls for it) the women who grace the red carpet but we usually tend to ignore the poor men. They make an effort too, you know!

This year, most of the male Golden Globe nominees hit the right note when it came to style.

John Legend and Common (who scooped the award for Best Original Song for 'Glory', from 'Selma') were both looking sharp, in particular John Legend, while Common opted for an all black ensemble that was a twist on a classic look.

Like Legend, Jeremy Renner and Kevin Spacey opted for a shawl neck tux, along with Matt Bomer too, although his shade of midnight blue was something that made him stand out from the crowd.

Actors Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Connolly, Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier, better known as the guys from Entourage, were also dressed to the nines, and we would totally wear that sparkly jacket. Grenier went for a shade of purple that was similar to the one worn by Matthew McConaughey, who was also sporting a full beard. Trend alert?

Another trend on the red carpet were lapels that worked with two different materials or two different shades, and both Jamie Dornan and Benedict Cumberbatch got the contrast just right.

Both Clive Owen and Eddie Redmayne opted for velvet jackets to give their looks a unique touch, although Owen opted for a tie instead of a bow tie. We really wouldn't mind one of our own!

Channing Tatum and Michael Keaton showed that whether you're fresh-faced or a Hollywood veteran, a classic, timeless tux will be your best friend, with both men looking particularly dapper. Speaking of timeless, George Clooney. That's all.

We think that the men's style at Golden Globes 2015 was far less boring than in previous years and we're digging the velvet and sparkles! You GO outside your comfort zone, men! You'll find our favs all wrapped up in a neat little gallery below.
