Black and nude pumps have their place in your shoe collection, but statement shoes will take it to the next level
The easiest way to make a style statement is through your shoes, especially if you're the type of woman who likes to make an effort but frequently has "nothing to wear". It's a fact written in the Style Bible, Book of Carrie, and must be obeyed.
Every day of the recent
apocalypse Zara sale, I went in like a sniffer dog, face to floor, looking for a pair of pink heels with tassels at the back that I should have bought when I first clapped eyes on them. I eventually found a slightly grubby pair in a size too small and snapped them up (for €19.99, score) because they're pink with tassels at the back, therefore the perfect addition to my all-black wardrobe. Wear a black t-shirt and jeans and statements shoes, and suddenly you're welcome in the VIP area.
Statement shoes don't have to be skyscrapers with jewels and feathers all over them...they can be sliders with jewels and feathers all over them, like these guys from Zara.
Or they can be pointy and glittery and purple, orange and silver.
& Other Stories €89
Flat, yellow and backless.
River Island €43
I'm including these ruby slippers because I own them and every time I wear them I get all the compliments. Besides, everyone needs a pair of red shoes. They're on sale, too.
V by Very €30
Penneys are in on the action too.
I can't not mention ASOS, who has the most incredible statement shoes in stock. We wrote about these beauties before, and they're still available. Don't forget to scroll down to the 'You may also like' section for total shoe lust.
